Nuggets I

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did."

When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

Concentrate on this sentence...

The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you.

Posted by Jane Tromburg (Cheryl's cousin's wife)on FaceBook and she says, "You might at first think your speakers aren't turned on, but give it a minute an listen carefully."

In fact I'd say just close your eyes, sit back and listen ... to all of the sounds created...

This fun YouTube video features a 1980s pop classic. The rock band Toto scored their biggest hit with Africa in 1982. The song is instantly recognizable. But it has been reinvented.

Perpetuum Jazzile is an a cappella jazz choir from Slovenia. It’s hard to think of something further from an ‘80s rock band. But their version of Africa may best the original. The group has amazing voices.

But the beginning of this video is really striking. Group members simulate an African thunderstorm with their hands. It’s really something to see and hear.

The Sun

(10/13/08) The Sun is now in the quietest phase of its 11-year activity cycle, the solar minimum - in fact, it has been unusually quiet this year - with over 200 days so far with no observed sunspots. The solar wind has also dropped to its lowest levels in 50 years. Scientists are unsure of the significance of this unusual calm, but are continually monitoring our closest star with an array of telescopes and satellites. Seen below are some recent images of the Sun in more active times. (21 photos total)

Don’t share the following with kids you are teaching to NOT draw on the walls… LOL

What can you do with $10? When Charlie Kratzer started on the basement art project in his south Lexington home, he was surrounded by walls painted a classic cream. Ten dollars of Magic Marker and Sharpie later, the place was black and cream and drawn all over.

Man decorates basement with $10 worth of Sharpies?

A gift from God…

And more cute pictures…

A teacher asked her students to draw a picture of their favorite Old Testament story, and as she moved around the class, she saw there were many wonderful drawings being done.

Then she came across a boy who had drawn an old man driving what looked like a station wagon. In the back seat were two passengers, both apparently naked.

"It's a lovely picture," said the teacher, "but which story does it tell?"

The boy replied. "Doesn't it say in the Bible that God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden?"

And of course I need to make a plug for “the old man”…

Fellowship with God

Fellowship with GOD. This class teaches who GOD is and how to have fellowship with GOD. It presents what the Bible says about the CREATOR of the heavens and the earth, His proper name "Yahweh," His Son Jesus, His gift of holy spirit, and why both GOD, the Father, and the lamb of GOD, Jesus Christ, are called "Lord." Through careful Bible study, the Fellowship with GOD class also presents what the Holy Bible says about angels, heaven, the devil and his evil spirits, and how to become and live effectively as a Christian.
